Staying in Faith
And they continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking bread, and in prayers (Acts 2:42, KJV).
Amplified: They were continually and faithfully devoting themselves to the instruction of the apostles, and to fellowship, to eating meals together and to prayers.
Devotion: profound dedication and commitment to God (Colossians 3:17).
Following the instruction and teaching of the Apostles
Fellowship: unity, being connected and common purpose with believers. Sharing mutual love, faith, and obedience to our Lord Jesus Christ (Psalms 133).
Breaking of bread: breaking of Christ’s body,
In communion, also fellowship with meals in unity and love (1 Corinthians 11:23-29).
Prayers: consistent communion with the Father through verbal communication; talking to the Father, alone and with others. Pray without ceasing (Thessalonians 5:16-18).
