Do Your Part

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you (James 4:7).

All I saw when I first read this scripture was power, authority over the devil...the old I rebuke you, routine.

I soon learned that submission to God's will and purpose was more than lip service. It meant yielding to my Savior. It meant trust, reliance, and hope; it meant not my will but His will!

As I became less and Jesus became more, resisting the temptations and wiles of the devil, he will flee not because of works but because of who you are in submission to Christ!
