To Timothy

To Timothy, a true son in faith: Grace, mercy, and peace from God our Father and Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Timothy 1:1).

I love the greetings in the epistles: always full of love, grace, and mercy.

Here, the Apostle Paul states that Timothy is his true son in “faith.” There are always others in different stages of maturity. Timothy stood out amongst them.

Next, we have the two sisters, Grace and Mercy, followed by Peace…

Grace is more than unmerited favor; it is the power of God’s Love to redeem, empower, and make us alive in Christ.

Mercy is God’s compassion, forgiveness towards sinners and saints alike.

Finally, we have the source of these blessings, God our Father (a family relationship). Notice the title: Jesus Christ our Lord, Adonai, meaning Master

Don’t be offended, but here is the reality: God the Father literally loved the hell out of us… by Jesus’s Sacrifice, on the Cross
